A Solar Mini Grid is a localised electricity generation and distribution system that powers an entire community — independently of the national grid. Using solar panels, battery storage, and smart power management, it delivers reliable 24/7 electricity to homes, schools, clinics, water systems, and productive loads.
Unlike rooftop solar (which serves a single building), a mini grid builds a shared AC distribution network — typically 415V 3-phase backbone with 230V single-phase household supply — serving dozens or hundreds of end consumers.
Generator or grid backup can be integrated via an Automatic Transfer Switch (STS) for uninterrupted supply during extended cloudy periods.

Mini grids become financially self-sustaining when combined with productive loads — income-generating activities that pay higher tariffs and run during peak solar hours, improving solar utilisation and revenue.
Impact on Project ROI
Productive loads improve solar utilisation, increase revenue per kWh, and reduce payback period — making the mini grid operationally independent of grants within 5–7 years.
CSR impact reports, SDG alignment documentation, carbon credit estimates, funding proposal support — Techedge provides everything your NGO or CSR team needs.
Greenpeace, Oxfam, CRY, GIZ, UNICEF, and local NGOs working on rural electrification, water, education and health projects.
Corporate CSR programs from FMCG, IT, banking and manufacturing sectors seeking measurable SDG-aligned rural energy impact.

Replaces diesel generators
214.5 kWh battery delivers 8–10 hours of night backup. Daytime solar covers 100% of community demand.
Eliminate fuel logistics, price volatility, and generator maintenance — ₹8–20/unit diesel cost replaced by solar at <₹3/unit LCOE.
A 150 kWp mini grid avoids ~180 tonnes of CO₂/year — measurable, reportable impact for CSR programs and climate funds.
Schools run computers and projectors. Clinics refrigerate vaccines. Children study after dark. Maternal health improves.
Solar-powered pumps deliver clean drinking water and irrigation — reducing waterborne disease and enabling double-cropping.
Powered shops, grain mills, and food processing create local income. Telecom connectivity unlocks financial inclusion.
Lighting enables home enterprises, tailoring, and handicraft after sunset. Safety improves after dark.
Start with 214.5 kWh BESS. Add a second BOS-B for 429 kWh. Scale solar to 300+ kWp as the community grows.
Deye BOS-B carries a 10-year warranty — critical for donor accountability and long-term project planning.
Our standard system serves communities of 50–200 households. Smaller villages (20–50 homes) can be served by a scaled-down system (50–80 kWp solar, 107 kWh BESS). Larger towns up to 500+ households can be served with a 300 kWp+ system using multiple BOS-B units.
Typically 6–12 months: 1 month for site assessment and system design, 2–3 months for procurement and manufacturing, 2–4 months for civil and installation, 1 month for commissioning and testing. Timeline varies by location, customs (for Africa), and site complexity.
Yes. The Deye BOS-B + PCS + MPPT system is fully standalone off-grid. An optional diesel generator can be integrated via the STS module for backup during extended cloudy periods — but for most India and Africa locations, 150 kWp solar fully covers community needs year-round.
Daytime surplus charges the 214.5 kWh battery bank. Once the battery is full, excess power can be directed to productive loads (pumping, cold storage, processing) or throttled via the MPPT controller. A second BOS-B unit (adding 214.5 kWh) can absorb additional surplus for larger communities.
Yes. Techedge supplies Deye and Goldi Solar equipment internationally. We handle export documentation, freight coordination, and can connect you with local installation partners in Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Uganda, Ghana, Rwanda and other markets.
We provide: system design reports, projected CO₂ savings calculations, SDG alignment mapping (SDG 7, 3, 4, 6, 13), community beneficiary reports, energy access impact metrics, and completion certificates — all suitable for corporate CSR disclosures and donor reporting.
Yes. The BOS-B uses LiFePO₄ (lithium iron phosphate) chemistry — the safest lithium battery format. No thermal runaway risk, non-toxic cathode, stable at high ambient temperatures (operating range −20°C to +55°C). Certified to IEC 62619 and UN38.3. Suitable for tropical and high-altitude environments.
Core system (150 kWp solar + 214.5 kWh battery + 100 kW PCS): ₹83–105 Lakhs. Full village electrification including LT distribution poles, lines and household connections: ₹1 Crore to ₹1.4 Crore. All figures are indicative — contact Techedge for a site-specific detailed estimate.
