Project Overview
1MT E&C operates a large industrial facility near Bengaluru with extensive metal-sheet rooftop area ideal for solar deployment. Techedge was engaged to design, engineer, and commission a 1 MW (1000 kWp) rooftop solar PV system across the facility — covering both elevated structure mounting on flat roof sections and flush-mount installation along the pitched metal roofing.
With over 1,850 solar modules to install, this megawatt-scale project presented significant engineering and logistics challenges: large roof spans, heavy equipment lifting, elevated working conditions, and the need for precise structural alignment across hundreds of metres of rooftop. From day one, Techedge treated safety and quality not as afterthoughts, but as the twin foundations of execution.
Safety-First Execution
At Techedge, safety is not a checkbox — it is a non-negotiable standard embedded into every stage of project delivery.
Every worker on the 1MT E&C site was equipped with mandatory PPE — hard helmets, high-visibility reflective safety vests, and full-body safety harnesses with anchor lines for all rooftop operations. No personnel accessed the elevated metal roof without being properly harnessed and tethered.
Key Safety Measures
- Mandatory PPE compliance — hard helmets, high-visibility vests, safety shoes, and gloves enforced across all personnel at all times
- Fall protection systems — full-body harnesses with rope anchoring deployed for every worker operating on elevated metal rooftops
- Supervised crane operations — heavy module pallets lifted using a 20-tonne mobile crane with trained riggers and ground spotters
- Toolbox talks & daily briefings — safety briefings before every shift to address site-specific hazards and task risks
- Controlled material staging — module pallets stored in an organised, strapped, and shrink-wrapped staging yard
- Buddy system on rooftops — no solo access; all rooftop operations carried out in teams of two or more
Safety is not optional at Techedge. When your team is working 10 metres above ground on a metal roof in the Indian sun, every harness clip, every helmet strap, and every briefing matters. We do not cut corners — because corners are where accidents happen.
Quality Engineering & Workmanship
Structural Fabrication
Mounting structures for flat-roof sections were fabricated on-site using hot-dip galvanised steel — engineered for corrosion resistance, load-bearing strength, and long-term durability in Karnataka’s climate. Elevated multi-tier module mounting frameworks were assembled from precision-cut GI members with bolted connections torqued to specification.
Module Mounting — Metal Roof
On the pitched metal roofing sections, solar modules were flush-mounted using rail-and-clamp systems secured directly to the roof purlins. Mid-clamps and end-clamps were installed with calibrated torque to ensure panels remain secure through monsoon winds and thermal expansion cycles.
Module Selection — Premier Energies
All modules were sourced from Premier Energies, one of India’s leading solar manufacturers. Premier Energies panels are BIS-certified, IEC-tested, and built for high-temperature performance — a critical requirement for industrial rooftops in South India.
Crane Lifting & Logistics
Solar module pallets were lifted from ground-level staging to rooftop using a 20-tonne mobile crane. Every lift was supervised with slings inspected pre-lift and exclusion zones maintained below the crane’s arc — eliminating manual carrying of heavy loads to height and reducing both injury risk and panel damage.
Project Impact
What Sets This Project Apart
Techedge Perspective
Every industrial solar project tests your team’s discipline as much as their skill. At 1MT E&C, the roof was high, the loads were heavy, and the stakes were real. We brought the same standard to this project that we bring to every site — safety harnesses clipped before the first boot touches the roof, structures torqued to spec, and modules handled with care from pallet to purlin. This is what EPC excellence looks like when it is built on safety and quality, not just speed.
Why Safety & Quality Matter in Solar EPC
Choosing a solar EPC partner is not just about price per watt. It is about:
- Worker safety — an EPC company that protects its workers on your roof protects your asset and your liability
- Structural integrity — properly engineered and galvanised mounting structures mean your solar system performs for 25 years, not 5
- Module handling — panels damaged during installation develop micro-cracks that reduce output year after year; professional handling from crane to clamp preserves your investment
- Regulatory compliance — proper PPE, trained personnel, and documented safety practices align with IS and OSHA-equivalent standards
- Long-term performance — quality workmanship in wiring, earthing, and module alignment directly impacts energy yield and system uptime
Conclusion
The 1MT E&C project is a demonstration of what happens when safety and quality are treated as first principles — not afterthoughts. From the first crane lift to the last of 1,850+ module clamps, Techedge delivered a 1 MW industrial rooftop solar system built to perform, built to last, and built without compromise.
“From the first crane lift to the last module clamp — built to perform, built to last, built without compromise.”

Client Testimonials
"The scale of this project demanded a team that understood both engineering and site safety. Techedge delivered on both — crane lifts, harness compliance, structural fabrication — all executed without a single safety incident across 1,850 modules. That level of discipline on a 1 MW rooftop is rare."
